I found Eric through a recommendation by a local guitar shop and have 2 teenage boys studying under him. Eric’s encouragement with both boys has been fantastic. They have extremely different styles in music and Eric does a wonderful job working with all types of music to match their interests. He also does a great job explaining both the technique and theory during his lessons and is very patient. In addition, his flexibility with lesson times and willingness to come to our house to teach has been extremely helpful with the wild world of high school sports and academics. Very thankful we found him and he was able to take the boys on as students, they love working with him!

I have been studying guitar with Eric for a year and he has been a great teacher. I immediately felt comfortable working with him and don’t feel judged when I make mistakes. Eric is really encouraging and fun to learn from. I have had other music instructors in the past that didn’t mesh well for me, not an issue with Eric. He is also great in how he answers questions in a way I can relate and work through challenges I’m having.

Eric is an excellent guitar teacher and a really nice guy! He is incredibly knowledgeable from 20+ years of playing, and he's super passionate about sharing his love of playing and creating music. He teaches my daughter, who is 16, and me...a 44 year old with no previous guitar experience. He's very encouraging, always spinning things positive when I say something self-deprecating. He also adjusts our individual lessons to the way we are each interested in learning to play, which makes it fun to learn from him. The fact that he comes to our house to do the lesson and is flexible when things come up, makes it an easy way to fit lessons into our lives. Practicing has become an enjoyable way for me to decompress, and there is no pressure from Eric to go at any particular pace. I just get to gradually learn something I've wanted to learn for a long time, from someone who is very good at it. I feel super lucky to have gotten connected with Eric for lessons.

Our eleven-year- old daughter has been taking acoustic guitar lessons from Eric Leadbetter for over two years. He is a master musician himself and a knowledgeable, fun instructor. My daughter started learning chords and notes and progressed to reading music as well as tablature. She has memorized several scales and uses them in her warm-ups. The techniques he uses work wonderfully for her and he individualizes her homework and lesson time to fit her style and pace. It was great to see her feel success early on. During her lesson times he accompanies her so that she can hear the range and depth of the melody and harmony and it is like a mini performance each time they get together. Lessons with Eric has helped her build her confidence and she was asked to lead the winter concert group on guitar, for her school. Eric is flexible with scheduling and even though he lives in Bend and were in Ashland he has continued to meet for lessons and encourage our daughter’s development and love for the guitar. We can’t say enough about what a positive experience it has been for all of us.
